Elkonor

Elkonor has chosen Down to Earth to remove 50 tons of CO2 in 2024. The work is already in progress in a measurable process, where we can track the carbon on its journey.

Elkonor is a nationwide electrician chain consisting of 195 independent electrical contractor businesses.

"Elkonor plays a vital role in society, and we aim to make smart, electrical, and future-oriented solutions easily accessible for businesses and private customers in Norway. This means we constantly seek new knowledge to stay ahead of the curve."

This approach has also been adopted concerning climate change, with Elkonor setting a goal to reduce their emissions and remove some of the tons they cannot eliminate.

With Down to Earth, Elkonor gains a relatable climate story in addition to the climate impact. The carbon is transformed into a solid form called biochar and is mixed in the soil by farmers in Innlandet. There, the carbon contributes to long-term soil improvement and climate adaptation without breaking down itself. Elkonor's climate actions become a tangible story and a contribution to future food security in the local area.
