Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge
Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge has long been a sustainability leader. Now, they are using their position to set a new standard in the climate fight: CO2 that is released can only be managed responsibly by removing an equivalent amount of carbon from the atmosphere. All the carbon is stored locally in agricultural soil in Rogaland.
"We have found a solution that makes a difference and makes sense to us and our customers, as physical carbon can be stored nearby. In addition, we are pleased that our carbon storage contributes to long-term soil improvement with our agricultural partners," says Sustainability Director Guro Elgheim Sivertsen.
They have chosen to continue with this strategy to this day, and have now removed a total of 117 tonnes of CO₂!
